Mohamad Wehbi has great experience in the topic of writing recognition, together with the expertise of Dario Zanca and Falk Pulsmeyer, the MaD Lab team took part in the first SVC Signature verification competition. The collaboration of the organizers and participants made this great publication possible.

The goal of SVC-onGoing is to evaluate the limits of on-line signature verification systems on popular scenarios (office/mobile) and writing inputs (stylus/finger) through large-scale public databases. It provides the research community with an open computing platform where researchers can easily benchmark their systems against the state of the art using public databases and common experimental protocols. The results achieved in the final evaluation stage of SVC-onGoing have proved the high potential of deep learning methods compared to traditional approaches such as Dynamic Time Warping (DTW).

Congratulations to all authors!
