Each year, the Bavarian Ministry for Science and Arts (Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Wissenschaft und Kunst) awards five women for her graduation in engineering sciences. This year a member of the MaD lab, Marlies Nitschke , was nominated by the FAU and finally won the price for her excellent Master’s Thesis with the title „Sensor-Based Movement Analysis Using Optimal Control Simulation of a 3D Biomechanical Model“. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Lerch, the director of the faculty for engineering, accompanied her to Munich where she received the price from the minister for science and arts, Prof. Dr. med. Marion Kiechle (www.stmwk.bayern.de).

We are really proud of her and are glad that she continues her studies in optimal control simulation as a PhD student in the MaD lab.
